Lekker zacht draadje in natuurlijke kleuren. Wat de eilanders ermee deden? Daarover later meer…

On almost all the islands of Shetland you can find sheep. Often loose so even on the busier roads you need to watch out not to hit them. On Fair Isle they run much less risk, because there are only a handful of people and cars that slowly drive across the narrow single lane roads. But if they still seem to want to walk away, they get a wooden rack to the head.

The farmers on the island good care of them, every now and then even get a manicure. The sheep on Fair Isle are less skittish and shy, some even come to you to greet you and to get a hug. The wool from these sheep can be bought in the only little shop on the island or from Kathy. Nice and soft yarn in natural colors. What the islanders do with it? More on that later …
