Deze week haalde ik bij De Afstap in Amsterdam het nieuwe Rowan-boek op. Het bedrijf dat al jarenlang gaat voor goede kwaliteit van de producten en de ontwerpen, bestaat 30 jaar en dat vieren ze met een extra mooie uitgave van het tweejaarlijkse breiboek. Behalve veel prachtige modellen (zowel de breisels als de beeldschone fotomodellen) staan er artikelen in over de bekendste ontwerpers, Britse schapenrassen en een uitleg over intarsia. En een lay-out om te zoenen! Kijk zelf maar……

This week I got the new Rowan book from De Afstap in Amsterdam. The company that for years sells good quality products and designs, exist for 30 years and that fact is celebrated with a extra nice issue of the knitting book that is published two times a year. Besides a lot of beautiful designs and photomodels it contains some articles about the most well-known designers, Britisch sheep and an explanation about intarsia knitting. And a wonderful lay-out! Check it out yourself…….

Maar liefst 61 breisters en één breier zette zich in de afgelopen maanden in voor één medebreister, Yvonnep. Natuurlijk deed ik ook mee. Met veel liefde en inzet werd een enorme groene bruidsdeken bij elkaar gebreid die tijdens de bruiloft aan het echtpaar werd overhandigd. En ze vonden het leuk…….. 😉

In the last months 61 female and one mail knitters made something wonderful for one knitting mate, Yvonnep. Of course I knitted along too. With lots of love a huge green bridal blanket was knitted and given to the married couple. They liked it……. 😉

Wie weet wat dit is, mag het zeggen. Ik kocht het voor vijf euro bij Berthi die ooit te horen had gehad dat het een vooroorlogs apparaat is om sokken en kousen te stoppen. Maar hoe het werkt?

Who knows what this is, may step forward. I bought it for five euros from Berthi who was told it is a device made before WOII to repair socks and stockings. But how does it work?

In het boekje van Teunisse en Van der Velden uit 1888 staat in ieder geval niets waar ik wat aan heb. Wel hoe men op de hand kan mazen en stoppen. Menig schoolkind heeft er frustraties aan over gehouden. Met bloed, zweet en tranen breide kleine meisjes met klamme handjes en dunne katoen hun eerste sok waar de juf dan een gat in knipte om het oefenen van de stop- en maassteken te kunnen laten oefenen. Vind je het dan gek dat sommige vrouwen van middelbare leeftijd gezworen hebben nooit meer een breinwerkje aan te raken?

In the book written by Teunisse en Van der Velden in 1888 I found no information about it. Is does teaches you how to craft and ment holes by hand. Lots of children have bad memoiries of those activities. With blood, sweat and tears little girls with sweaty hands knitted with thin cotton their first sock. Then the teacher made a hole in it so the child could practise repairing it. It is no wonder that some women around 50 of 60 years old have sworen never to touch any handcraft again.

En helaas heb ik nog wel wat te stoppen, want de laatste tijd vallen er regelmatig gaten in mijn zelfgebreide sokken. Het lijkt wel een epidemie. Ook Tijm had er al last van. En Hil die ‘zachte sokkenwol’ aanschafte maar ze eenmaal tot sokken gebreid en gewassen alleen nog kon gebruiken om haar voetzolen wat op te schuren. Tot ook daar na twee à drie keer wassen de centimeters grote gaten invielen, dus daar kwam ze weer makkelijk vanaf. Ook toen ik bij SnB Amsterdam meebreide, werd er vlijtig een handgeverfde sok gestopt. Voorlopig spendeer ik mijn kostbare breiuren alleen nog aan kwalitatief goed garen en laat ik het alternatieve circuit voor de zekerheid maar even voor wat het is…….

Unfortunately I have somethings to repair myself, as lately on a regular basis I find holes in my knitted socks. It seems to be a plague. Even Tijm was affected by it. And Hil who bought ‘soft sock wool’ but when she knitted the socks and even washed them a few times they could only service as kind of sandpaper for her foot soles. Until they also got some holes in it, so that was a quick and easy solution to that problem. At SnB Amsterdam there was some homedyed sock mending going on too. So for now I will be carefull with my knitting hours and stick to the yarns that proofed to be of good quality to be sure to be knitting and not mending for a while…….

Dan sta je ervan te kijken als je de binnenkant van het etiket van je bolletje Regia leest. Maar liefst tien jaar garantie wordt er geboden op de wol. Die durven! Hoe ik het moet opvatten, weet ik niet. Sturen ze je nieuwe wol in de kwaliteit van toen als je nu een klacht indient over sokken van bijna tien jaar oud? Of een nieuw bolletje? Een vergoeding voor gederfde breiuren? Wereldwijd sturen ze je vervangend garen. Dus je krijgt er geen sokkenbreier bij, maar toch petje af voor deze gründliche garantie.

To my surprise I read in the inside of the label of Regia sock wool that they garanty it for ten years. Couragious! Who they will compensate you is still unclear to me. Will they send me new wool in the quality of the old wool when you complain about ten year old socks? Or balls of wool in new qualities? Or a compensation for your hours of knitting? Worldwide they will send you yarn to replace the yarn that didn’t last for ten years. So they will not send you a sock knitter, but even though, compliments for the great idea.

Maar goed, nu staat het mysterieuze apparaatje nog voor me. Het rijtjes tandjes waar mogelijk steken op kunnen, kan scharnieren. De ronde houten schijfjes in twee maken passen best goed overdwars in de sok. Maar verder? Vandaar dit blog en deze oproep, want ik ben natuurlijk razend nieuwsgierig en jullie vast ook……. wie weet er meer over?

But well, now this mysterious device is still in front of my on the table. The row of teeth where probably your stitches can go, can move. The wooden discs in two sizes fit into a sock. But then? So please, react to this call, as I’m so curious and you might be too…… who can help us with the solution?

Vrouwen hebben vaak iets met tassen. Ik ook. Rommeltjes zijn niet erg, zelfs niet als het er veel zijn, maar ze moeten wel in een geschikt tasje of zakje worden bewaard. Gelukkig vond ik in Parijs weer een paar ware pareltjes. Bij Monoprix, de Hema van Frankrijk, verkochten ze doorschijnende rechthoekige toilettassen. In het bovenste deel zit keurig onder een elastiekje een zeepdoos (voor je stitchmarkers natuurlijk!), twee flesjes (voor handcreme en een borrel om de handjes soepel én los te maken?) en een tandenborstelhouder voor het bewaren van korte sokkennaaldjes. Er is zelfs een extra elastiekje voor je Chibi. Het kan toch niet mooier. De ontwerper van die juweeltje móet een breier met een verborgen agenda zijn geweest.

Women love bags. So do I. A mess is not a problem, even if it is a lot of mess, but it should be store in suitable bags. Fortunately I found some wonderful pieces in Paris at the Monoprix, the KMart of France. They sold transparant retangular bags for cosmetics. In the top part you find under colorful elastic bands a box for your soap (and stitchmarkers of course!), two bottles (for hand cream and a drop of something alcoholic to loosen up the hands?) and a toothbrush holder for keeping short sock needles. And there is even a extra band for you Chibi. Can it get better than this? The designer was probably a knitter with a hidden agenda.  

Mijn projectbag uit New York van The Point biedt plaats aan drie bollen wol die je door de gaatjes in de bovenflap naar je breiwerk laat lopen. Als vrouwtje van vijf Siamezen die deze warme zomer maar niet uitverhaard raken, leek het me wel wat……. En natuurlijk moest daar een een superhandige transparante breitas bij. Virgin Atlantic scoorde hoog bij mij toen ze me aan de start van de vlucht een schattig ziplockje met tandenborsteltje, pasta, sokken en een slaapmaskertje aanreikte. Volgende keer vlieg ik weer Virgin Atlantic!

My projectbag from The Point in New York has room for three balls of wool that you can lead through the holes in the top. As owner of five Siamese cats that keep loosing a lot of hair this summer, it seemed like a good idea….. And of course I needed the practical transparant bag too. Virgin Atlantic was so kind to give each travelar at take off a cute ziplock with a toothbrush, toothpasta, socks and a sleeping mask. Next time I want to fly Virgin Atlantic again!

Bij Muji, de stijlvolle winkel met Japanse spulletjes en kleding in oa Parijs, New York en Londen, verkopen ze licht transparante toilettasjes in diverse maten en met lekker stevige ritsen. Ik heb er al een hele stapel in alle maten. Voor kleine spulletjes zijn er doordachte platte en ronde doosjes die je zelf kan samenstellen tot het mini-opbergmeubel waar al je stitchmarkers in passen.

Muji, the stylish shop with lots of Japanese stuff and clothing in Paris, New York and London, sells vaguely transparant bags in several sizes with zippers. I already have a load of them in all sizes. For small stuff I combine their well designed flat and round boxes for all my stitchmarkers.

Maar ook in Nederland kan je terecht. Ziplocks met schuifjes om ze makkelijk te sluiten en openen liggen in het schap van de grotere Albert Heijn supermarkt. Geweldig om je stash te ordenen maar je prikt je breinaaldjes er zó doorheen. Nee, dan die stevige ziplockjes die worden gebruikt voor het vervoer van vloeistoffen in de cabine van een vliegtuig. Sommige drogisterijen hebben ze in de zomer te koop.

But in The Netherlands you can buy good stuff too. Ziplocks with sliders so you can easily close and open them can be bought at the biggers Albert Heijn supermarket. Great to put your stash in but your knitting needles will damage them within seconds. You can better buy the stronger ziplocks that can be used to carry liquids in the cabine of the airplane. Some drugstores sell them in summer.

Tupperware is ook gewéldig. Hoewel de Tupperware-party voor mij het toppunt van truttigheid vormt, vind ik hun plastic spullen wel superleuk. In de lunchboxjes in kekke kleurtjes passen al je breigereedschappen.

Tupperware is great too. Although I loathe the Tupperware party for it profond stupidity, I think their plastic stuff is nice. In the lunch boxes in cute colors you can store all your knitting tools.  

En tenslotte kan je soms zelfs in de wolwinkel iets scoren. Clover heeft vrolijke breinaaldenkokers en van De Afstap kreeg ik een inschuifbare exemplaar. Hij past prima in de uitsparing van de banden van mijn nieuwe collector’s item: de enige echte originele jaren tachtig De Afstap-tas!

And even is some woolshops you can find something. Clover sells colorful cases and from De Afstap I got even a case that can be twisted to give it the right size for you needles. It fitte nicely in the space between the bands of my new collector’s itme: the only original eighties De Afstap Bag!

Het leven is mooi in Parijs, maar alles bestaat bij gratie van z’n tegenpool, dus bezoekjes aan begraafplaatsen drukken je nog eens extra met je neus op dit feit. Père-Lachaise, MontMartre en Passy lagen er weer mooi bij in het zonnetje. Dankzij de opleving van de funeraire belangstelling worden veel beroemde graven gerestaureerd.

Life is good in Paris, but everything exist thanks to it’s antipole, so a visit to one of het cemetaries makes that fact extra clear to you. Père-Lachaise, MontMartre and Passy bathed in sunlight. Thanks to a renewed interest in the death a lot of famous tombs are restaured.

Maar nu over op de wol. Helaas was Boisson in de Rue St Denis op vakantie, maar in Rue Cadet was Le Comptoir wel open. Een piepklein overvol winkeltje met ‘het gebruikelijke’ zonder echte klappers en best aan de prijs. Toch wel leuk. Ook heb ik man Jan weer en passant naar de beide Droguerieën weten mee te tronen. In de Bon Marché kocht ik twee bolletjes Yak van Bouton d’Or voor nog een paar Ugly Slippers.

But now more about wool. Unfortunately Boisson in Rue St Denis was closed for the holidays, but Le Comptoir in Rue Cadet was open. A small shop stuffed with ‘the usual’, without real special things and a bit expensive. But all together is was nice. Also I dragged along husband Jan to the both Droguerieën. In the Bon Marché I bought two balls of Yak from Bouton d’Or for another pair of Ugly Slippers.  

In Le Pain Quotidien werd ik donderdagavond hartelijk ontvangen door de Parijse breisters voor een gezellig breiavondje met een glaasje cider. Er waren een paar oude bekenden van L’Aiguille en Fête en er was veel belangstelling voor een workshop Twijnend Breien. Mét vertaalster!

In Le Pain Quotidien on Thursday night I was welcome to knit along with the Parisien knitters during a cozy knitting night with a glass of cider. There were some familiar faces from L’Aiguille en Fête and there was a lot of interest in a workshop Twijnend Breien. With a translator!

Verder is het breiwerk dat ik braaf iedere dag in de tas stopte er amper uitgeweest. Het was de vakantie van het zwerven door gezellige wijkjes en het ontdekken van leuke winkeltjes, passages en eethuisjes. Thuis gekomen had ik geen voeten meer over. Maar dat geeft niet, want de nieuwe Handwerken zonder Grenzen (nr 148) lag op de mat en binnenkort heb ik zelf ook weer een deadline, dus ik mag lekker een weekje targetbreien!  

Besides that evening the knitting I put in my bag every day hardly came out. It was the holiday of the strolling through cozy neighbourhoods, finding nice small shops, alleys and restaurants. When I got home I could hardly feel my feet. But that is no problem, the new Handwerken zonder Grenzen (no 148) was in the postbox and soon I have a deadline for an article too, so I can sit and target knit all week!

La Droguerie  heeft uitverkoop, hoorde ik. Iedere reden is goed genoeg voor een weekje Parijs. Au revoir!

Spinnen is leuk, maar het zijn beslist niet mijn favoriete dieren. Toch moést ik deze traditionele Shetland shawl maken. De vraag was dan ook niet óf ik ‘m zou maken, maar wanneer en van welk garen.

Spiders are not my favorite animals, but I really had to make this traditional Shetland shawl. The question was not to make it or not, but just when and from which yarn.

Het patroon komt uit Victorian Lace Today, waar de shawl A Curved Shawl with Diamond Edging heet. De ontwerper is Jane Sowerby. Ze komt ook naar de IKnit Day in London dus het dikke boek gaat mee voor signering. Ook Sarah Don heeft een ontwerp van een shawl met dit patroon in haar boek The Art of Shetland Lace opgenomen. Ietsje anders met ook een minder brede rand, maar met dezelfde uitstraling.

The pattern is from Victorian Lace Today, where the shawl is named A Curved Shawl with Diamond Edging. The designer is Jane Sowerby. She comes to the IKnit Day in London too, so the heavy book is going with me for being signed. Sarah Don also has a design in her book The Art of Shetland Lace. Slightly different with a bit smaller border, but with the same appearance.

Het materiaal nam ik verleden jaar mee op L’Aiguille en Fête in Parijs bij Mercredi & Cie uit de Collection Quintessence. Een prachtige samenstelling van 70 procent babykameel dat het de mooie kleur geeft en 30 procent zijde dat voor de glans zorgt. Twee knotjes was gelukkig meer dan genoeg voor de omslagdoek. De Addi kantbreinaalden van De Afstap waren geweldig voor deze klus. De scherpe punten in maat 3,25 mm waren fijn voor het samenbreien van drie strakke steken.

The material I bought on L’Aiguille en Fête in Parijs bij Mercredi & Cie from the Collection Quintessence. A wonderful blend of 70 percent baby camelle for the subtile color and 30 percent silk for the shine. Two skeins was enough for the shawl. The Addi lace needles from De Afstap were so good for this job. With the sharp points in size 3,25 mm they were a great help for knitting three tight stitches together.

Mijn moeder was gek op Oostenrijk. Samen zwijmelden we keer op keek bij de The Sound of Music. Ze kleedde mij als klein meisje in Tiroler jurkjes en nam me mee naar Zell am See en St Johann in Tirol. Van zo’n opvoeding blijft toch wel wat plakken.

My mother loved Austria. Together we swooned watching The Sound of Music. She dressed me as a child in Tiroler dirndls and took me to Zell am See and St Johann in Tirol. Such an upbringing has influences on the rest of your life.

Een poosje geleden kwam ik tijdens mijn zoektochten op het internet naar de mooiste kanten shawls op het spoor van het kantbreiwerk van de Duitse Erich Engeln. Meestal ontwierp hij doilies (ronde kleedjes), net als landgenoot Herbert Niebling, maar hij maakte een uitstapje naar de traditionele Oostenrijkse breikunst. Dit resulteerde in twee prachtige Trachtentucher (Blatt 58), die losjes om de schouders gedragen kunnen worden. De vorm is langgerekt en iets rondlopend, dus geschikt om op de borst geknoopt te worden, iets wat me wel handig lijkt met de zeer laag uitgesneden dirndlbloesjes. Misschien is het iets voor Frau Antje?

Some time ago, strolling on the internet, I found two beautiful lace shawls designed by the german knitter named Erich Engeln. Most of the time he designed doilies, likeHerbert Niebling who is a German knitter too, but he also tried the traditional Austrian art of knitting. The resulted in two beautiful Trachtentucher (Blatt 58), that can be hung loosely over the shoulders. The form is stretched and a bit round, so the shawl is suitable to be knotted on the chest, which must have been very practical when you wear the low cut Austrian dirndl blouses which show a lot of clevage. Maybe a good garment for Frau Antje?

In het door Engeln geadviseerde garen, DMC haakkatoen dikte 20, wordt de shawl vrij klein, maar je kan natuurlijk ook een dikker garen kiezen voor een echte omslagdoek. Ik koos Jamieson’s of Shetland Merino-Shetland Ultra in een diepe donkerblauw (Navy) op Addi Lace-naalden 3 mm. De start van Trachtentuch A is simple, maar na toer 56 begint de pret. Het is wel even wennen aan de Duitse beschrijvingen en teltekeningen, maar de Cromulent Knitter geeft op haar site een uitgebreid overzicht van de steken. Bovendien gebruikt Engeln de eerste letters van de termen als tekentje, zodat er toch logica blijkt te zitten in de exotisch ogende teltekeningen.

The yarn advised by Engeln, DMC crochet cotton nr 20, produces a rather small shawl, but of course you can choose a thicker yarn for a bigger shoulder shawl. I choose Jamieson’s of Shetland Merino-Shetland Ultra in a deep dark blue (Navy) on Addi Lace neeldes 3 mm. The start of the Trachtentuch A is simple, but after row 56 the fun starts. It takes some time to get used to the German way the pattern is written and to the unfamiliar charts, but the Cromulent Knitter offers a extensive list of all the stitches. Engeln uses the first letters of the knitting terms as a sign, so some logic can be found in the charts.

Uit Oostenrijk komt, behalve veel narigheid over gegijzelde kinderen, nog meer moois. Van Yarnissima hoorde ik over een set van drie boekjes met kabelwerk dat gebaseerd is op het omdraaien van steken (Twisted Stitches). De techniek wordt gebruikt om traditionele Oostenrijkse kousen en jakjes te breien.  

From Austria comes, besides a lot of bad stuff about children being kept hostice for years, more nice stuff. Yarnissima told me about a set of three books with cableling based on twisting stitches. The technique is used for traditional Austrian jackets and stockings.

Oostenrijkse invloeden aanwenden als inspiratie voor pure camp, dat kan ook. Jan ter Heide en Evelien Verkerk jodelde een modeshow bij elkaar waar de kitch vanaf droop. Na het openen van hun tentoonstelling Knitted Landscape kreeg ik zelfs een flesje Alpenlucht mee.

You can also apply Austrian influences as inspiration for pure camp. Jan ter Heide en Evelien Verkerk yodeled a complete fashion show which was one big piece of camp. After opening their exposition Knitted Landscape they even gave me a bottle of fresh air from the Alps.

Hartstikke leuk, die workshops van The Dutch Knitters, toch? Maar je mist toch wat…… Een lekker Frans wijntje om de handjes wat los te maken misschien?

Nice, these workshops of The Dutch Knitters, isn’t it? But still something was missing……. Maybe a glas of French wine to loosen up the hands?

Daar gaan we dit najaar iets aan doen. In samenwerking met Vrije Vogel-reizen organiseren The Dutch Knitters van 20 tm 27 september een gezellige en leerzame Dutch Knitting Holiday in de prachtige Creuse (Limousin, de streek boven de Dordogne) in Frankrijk. SnB’er Catharine Jumelet nam het initiatief en samen bedachten we hoe we de week zo interessant mogelijk kunnen maken voor breiers. Gedurende de week zijn er uitstapjes naar dorpjes en bezienswaardigheden in de streek. De Creuse staat bekend als textielstreek, dus vaak hebben de excursies iets met textiel te maken. Maar het bezoeken van een lokaal marktje is natuurlijk altijd leuk om de authentieke Franse sfeer te proeven.

This we are going to solve this autumn. In cooperation with Vrije Vogel-reizen The Dutch Knitters organize from 20 till 27 September an enjoyable and educational Dutch Knitting Holiday in the beautiful Creuse (Limousin, the region North of the Dordogne) in France. SnB member Catharine Jumelet took the initiative and together we gathered ideas to make the week as interesting as possible to knitters. During the week there will be excursions to villages and touristic attractions in the region. The Creuse is well known as a region with a lot of points of interest to textile lovers, so a lot of the excursions will be textile related. But visiting a local market is always nice too to sniff up some of the real French atmosphere.

Je logeert in een Maison Courbarien, een mooi landhuis in Saint Georges la Pouge, een landelijk dorpje met nog geen 400 inwoners. Er wordt lekker gekookt met hoofdzakelijk producten uit de streek, waarbij we natuurlijk zoveel mogelijk rekening houden met vegetariërs en andere dieetwensen.

You will stay in Maison Courbarien, a beautiful manor in Saint Georges la Pouge, a rural village with almost 400 inhabitants. There will be home cooked food with mostly products from the Creuse. And of course it will all be adjusted to vegetarian of other diets.

Zoals je van The Dutch Knitters gewend bent, zullen de workshops gericht zijn op beter leren breien en bijzondere technieken. Corrie Huisman komt mij helpen door extra begeleiding te geven tijdens de workshops, zodat iedereen voldoende aandacht krijgt. Het definitieve programma zal bekend worden gemaakt in augustus, zodat we de inhoud van de workshops kunnen aanpassen aan het niveau en de wensen van de cursisten.

As The Dutch Knitters are known for workshops that are focussed on learning to knit perfectly and on knitting techniques, this is what can be expected from the workshops. Corrie Huisman will be there to help me by giving extra attention to those that need it so you can be sure that you get enough attention. The programme will be announced in August, so we have some time to adjust the content to the wishes and the level of the students.

New York stikt van de leuke winkeltjes. Vooral de wijken als SoHo en Chinatown zijn volgepropt met leuke winkeltjes en boektiekjes. Een inventieve breier beperkt zich dus niet tot de wolwinkels maar shopt tot ze dropt. Vooral met al die voordelige dollars op zak. Jan kocht een IPod die omgedoopt werd tot VickyPod, insiders weten waarom.

New York is stufffed with nice shops. Especially in neighbourhoods like SoHo and Chinatown you find loads of cute shops and boutiques. So an inventive knitters should not restrict herself to the wool shops until she drops. Not with al these cheap dollars in her purse. Jan bought an IPod that he named VickyPod, insiders know why.

De boekhandels in New York zijn gewéldig. Meters breiboeken in iedere winkel. Alles wat je altijd al even in had willen zien, ligt er voor standaard prijzen. Wat heb ik me ingehouden met ‘maar’ vier of vijf boeken! Vooral Barnes & Noble had veel, zálig! En niemand achter de kassa die lacht als je om de afdeling Knitting Books vraagt.

The bookstores in New York are awesome. Meters of knitting books in every store. All you ever wanted to browse through, mostly for standard prices. I only bought four of five of them! Especially Barnes & Noble had a good choice, a delight to shop there! And if you ask someone for the department ‘Knitting Books’, they don’t even smile.

Books Off is de Japanse witte boekenhal. Alles kost er tussen de twee en vijf dollar, dus dat was leuk winkelen. Er ging dus een flinke stapel mee, met als klapper twee boekjes over de truien van James Dean. Collector’s items, zeker weten.

Books Off is the Japanese bookstore outlet. Everything is between two and five dollar, so that is a nice way to do some book shopping. I bought a pile of them, with as the big winner two books about the sweaters of James Dean. Collector’s items, I’m sure.

Bij Kinokuniya, de officiële Japanse boekenwinkel tegenover het Bryant park, vond ik ook planken vol Japanse breiboeken, maar dan van recenter datum. En Gothic Lolita’s, een winkel vol.

At Kinokuniya, the official Japanses bookstore opposite Bryant Park, I found shelves full of Japanese knitting books, mostly of more recent dates. And Gothic Lolita’s, lots of them.

Muji is geen boekenwinkel, maar wél leuk. Het is een winkel vol prachtige stijlvolle Japanse spullen. Ook praktische, enigszins doorzichtige, toilettasjes in twee maten, waar je precies één project in kan stoppen.

Muji is not bookstore, but it is a lot of fun. It is a shop that sells stylish Japanese things. Also practical, a bit transparant, bags for cosmetics and so, in which you can put exactly one knitting project.

Bij Banana Republic, een waanzinnig leuke kledingzaak met een opmerklijk inkoopbeleid en redelijke prijzen, vond ik in de herenopruimingshoek voor weinig nog iets bijzonders. Een zijden truitje met een kwart aan roestvrij staal. Hoef ik dat tenministe niet meer van het dunne Habu-garen met metaal te breien.

At Banana Republic, a awesome fashion shop with a remarkeble view on fashion and reasonable prices, I found in the men’s clearance corner for only a small price something nice. A sweater made of silk with about 25% of stainless steel. Now I don’t have to knit one myself of the very thin Habu yarn.
